Profile
Born to the Italian nobility. After a childhood devoted to piety and study, at age 15 Anselm wanted to enter religious life, but his father Gondulf prevented it, and Anselm became rather worldly for several years. Upon the death of his mother, Ermenberge, Anselm argued with his father, fled to France in 1056, and became a Benedictine monk at Bec, Normandy in 1060. He studied under and succeeded Lanfranc as prior of the house in 1063. Abbot of the house in 1078.
Because of the physical closeness and political connections, there was frequent travel and communication between Normandy and England, and Anselm was in repeated contact with Church officials in England. Brazilian Bishop: Young People Have Right to Traditional Liturgy

Young people have the right to "more traditional" forms of liturgical "experience", said Bishop Joel Portela Amado, 71, of Petrópolis, at a press conference of the Brazil Bishops in Aparecida, according to AciDigital.com.
A journalist asked about a possible “return” of the Mass in the Roman rite and spoke about “young people who kneel to receive Communion” and “wear veils”.
Bishop Amado replied it is important to consider broader trends, citing 2022 census data showing the highest number of people without religion is among those aged 19 to 39.
“It’s not that they don’t believe in God. They are ‘unchurched’ - they believe in God, but lack a concrete path within the Church,” he said.
Bishop Amado suggested this can lead young people to seek religious reference points, sometimes in past forms they did not grow up with.
For him, such “diversity” is legitimate: “Do they have the right to be like this? Yes, because Catholicism is plural by nature, especially in a deeply plural world,…Hiroc’h

In other words, Catholics have the right to the true Mass. Who would have thought?

Ave Crux

"They are ‘unchurched’ - they believe in God, but lack a concrete path within the Church,” he said. Bishop Joel suggested this can lead young people to seek religious reference points, sometimes in past forms they did not grow up with." No, actually, it's because they finally find the transcendent, the supernatural, the Divine, "the true, the good and the beautiful" in the Traditional Latin Mass, vs. the pure, horizontal humanism of the Novus Ordo. Grace operating in young, idealistic, fresh souls who want something more than what this world offers.

3rd Sunday of Easter - Acts 2:14, 22–33
Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice, and proclaimed: "You who are Jews, indeed all of you staying in Jerusalem. Let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
You who are Israelites, hear these words. Jesus the Nazorean was a man commended to you by God with mighty deeds, wonders, and signs, which God worked through him in your midst, as you yourselves know.
This man, delivered up by the set plan and foreknowledge of God, you killed, using lawless men to crucify him.
But God raised him up, releasing him from the throes of death, because it was impossible for him to be held by it.
For David says of him: 'I saw the Lord ever before me, with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed.
Therefore my heart has been glad and my tongue has exulted; my flesh, too, will dwell in hope,
because you will not abandon my soul to the netherworld, nor will you suffer your holy one to see corruption.
You have made known to me the paths of …

A Priest on the war on Iran who lived in Iran (John-Henry Weston show)

Fr. Christopher Basden draws on his Middle East upbringing to challenge mainstream narratives about Iran, Israel, and the push toward war. He argues that claims of imminent threats mirror past justifications like the Iraq War, while deeper conflicts over Palestine and geopolitical interests continue to fuel instability. The discussion highlights the human cost of war, including displacement, destruction, and the suffering of Christian communities. Criticism is directed at Western Church leaders for inconsistent responses to these crises. Despite the turmoil, Fr. Basden points to growing awareness and enduring faith as signs of hope.

Maria delos Angeles

I know that priest from real life. He has served on two parishes I have visited and I have spoken him on the phone and in person before.

In this powerful face-to-face interview, Mary Phagan-Kean — great-niece and namesake of 13-year-old Little Mary Phagan — shares the uncensored family story of one of America’s most controversial crimes: the 1913 sex murder of Little Mary Phagan inside Atlanta’s National Pencil Company.
Convicted of the brutal rape and murder was Leo Frank, the factory superintendent and local B’nai B’rith president. His case became a national flashpoint, sparking intense accusations of antisemitism, racism, and a media war between North and South. It directly led to the founding of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) in 1913.
Mary Phagan-Kean, who was named after her great-aunt and only learned the full story at age 13, opens up about her decades-long personal investigation. She reveals:
How she discovered the truth through original 1913 newspaper accounts rather than biased later books
Her extensive personal archive, including trial evidence, family photos, and artifacts (many now preserved at Georgia …Hiroc’h

Via Lucis
In the summer of 1988, Father Sabino Palumbieri, Professor of Anthropology at the Salesian University in Rome, proposed the creation of a new set of stations, centred upon the Resurrection and the events following from it, so as to emphasise the positive, hopeful aspect of the Christian story which, though not absent from the Stations of the Cross, is obscured by their emphasis upon suffering. The first major public celebration of this devotion was in 1990, after which it gained greater currency.
In December 2001, the Holy See promulgated a Directory on Popular Piety and the Liturgy, which commended the Via Lucis as follows:
A pious exercise called the Via Lucis has developed and spread to many regions in recent years. Following the model of the Via Crucis, the faithful process while meditating on the various appearances of Jesus – from his Resurrection to his Ascension – in which he showed his glory to the disciples who awaited the coming of the Holy Spirit (cf. Pope's Brother: "When He Was 7, a Mom Said He’d Be the First American Pope"

John Prevost discussed in an April 17 interview with 'EWTN News In Depth' his life as the pope’s brother. Main points.
Loss of privacy: “I used to be able to leave the front door open. Now I’m hesitant because you don’t know who’s going to come to the door.”
Ordinary childhood: “Probably like anyone else’s—it was a mom and dad, three boys, school, homework, play, and repeat. It was just a normal life.”
Childhood memory: “One time we were building a shed in the backyard and Rob fell through the roof. It was just part of the wood was rotted, because we were using old doors from the house for the roof.”
Leo XIV’s early vocation: “We always knew that he wanted to be a priest. From a very young age, that was just always there.”
A “prophecy”: “When he was maybe in first or second grade, one of the moms across the street said, ‘You know, he’s going to be the first American Pope.’ We just kind of heard it and moved on.”
Still just brothers: “People say, ‘Who says no to the Pope?’ I …Hiroc’h

Acts 6:8-15
“They could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which Stephen spoke.”
When a person allows himself to be taught by the Holy Spirit, his language becomes pure, simple, and realistic.
John 6:22-29
“Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life.”
Jesus is speaking of the reality of heaven. The food of heaven, which is also found in the Eucharist, is the Love of God; his joy and his peace.
